[Fenris really, really hates Cole. He hates that this thing can roam free in the Fleet. That eventually, it will lead to the destruction of everyone around it. He's more than aware of what spirits are capable of, that they are in his mind just demons by another name.

He'd end Cole's eixstence in a second, but Varric...well, Varric is one of the few people in existence he will stop for and heed his words. He doesn't look happy when he answers (when does he?) but answer he does. ]

Is it actually posing a danger to the Fleet? I don't understand its riddles and have no care to start learning now.

[This is the most distressed Varric's ever been, aside from when he found out Hawke had died. That was worse. But now, he's just nervous and-- worried, and he wants to stop Cole from doing something fucking stupid.]

Besides, if you kill him he'll just come back and remember everything.
