[Okay, now that one honestly takes her by surprise. Maybe it's a streak of naivete still left in her, or just her clinging onto some shrapnel of salvaging this. Her conversation with Kirk led her to believe they had just talked and not a whole lot else. Whether because Kirk phrased it deliberately that way, or it was misinterpretation, she couldn't say.
