That does not change the fact that it will remain that way indefinitely if no one attempts to change it. Fighting slavery and blood magic is the only means to get rid of it.

[Justice doesn't entirely appreciate how long it takes to change countries by a mortal's standards, but he also doesn't see the value in giving up on changing it entirely.]

The innocent casualties would be immense. [The slaves, the non-mage Tevinters, the soldiers who would have to go in--and that's not even understanding the issue of giving the Qun a chance to barrel through the land of their historical enemies and invade the south. Justice has little to no understanding of geopolitics like that, but he understands that there is no destroying a country's population without killing thousands if not millions of innocents.] It would be better to exhaust all other options before considering it.

The innocent casualties are already immense. Unless you believe any action again them would not result in them instantly turning on their slaves? Most magisters would rather their slaves die than suffer the indignity of having them freed.

Any kind of revolution will result in innocent casualties, but that does not mean it is not worth it to try avoiding them as much as possible. It is worth it to work up from more discriminate means before resorting to destroying an entire nation.

[Justice seethes at the thought of an entire nation standing on the backs of slaves, but he can't get behind getting all those slaves and non-slave owning citizens killed in a ham-handed attempt to save them. Justice thinks that Dorian and people like him are the best chance Tevinter has to change without all those unnecessary casualties, and it's worth it to give that a chance before even considering leveling the whole place.]
